Along the Perquimans River shores were the homes of the first resident colonial governors and the oldest brick house in the State. The Town of Hertford contains the state’s first recorded colonial deed in the Perquiman County courthouse and a museum celebrating Jim “Catfish” Hunter of Baseball’s Hall of Fame. After your river ride, come downtown for an ice cream cone at Woodards Pharmacy and take a walk through our unique and beautiful small town.
